Netstar is seeking a visionary Head of Operations to spearhead our operational strategy, bridging the gap between high-level profitability and exceptional customer delivery. In this pivotal role, you will take full ownership of our revenue growth, cost efficiency, and people leadership, ensuring every facet of our operations is strategically aligned for peak performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the operations environment, from planning to installation
  • Drive the increase of asset mobility device installation from either fleet, dealerships, consumers, through Sales (commercial or Consumer).
  • Develop and implement operations strategies to increase market share from the competitors
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets
  • Oversee stock planning, pricing, and device availability and collaborate with relevant departments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and OEM stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM standards, fleet, and dealership policies.
  • Handle escalations from customers and operational matters professionally.
  • Analyze productivity data by driving AI usage and optimizing staffing and production capacity.
  • Using historical records to forecast future installation patterns, plan for the future by aligning with the budget.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the industry, including challenges and opportunities in the asset mobility sector.
  • Working closely with other heads of departments to improve efficiency and drive technology usage while minimizing costs.
  • Demonstrate potential ROI on device installation from sales by balancing proven cost of sales vs OI in the operations.
  • Conducts routine regional branch visits to review operations and to meet with dealerships, Fleet owners, OEMs, and Sales staff in the regions.
  • Routinely review Operations reports and financial statements with Finance, Technology, and Sales management to monitor financial strength and compliance with company standards and agreements.
  • Review and monitor marketing and advertising plans for both Commercial and Consumer.
  • Maintain awareness of competing asset mobility in the assigned market and analyze the market registration information and incorporate market expansion as part of the Being Number One journey.
  • Monitor risks associated with recovery and non-recovery costs and collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Risk.
Staff Leadership
  • Manage the effective achievement of the division’s Operations objectives through effective leadership and by setting individual Operations objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating the team to maximise performance.
  • Build and manage a high-performing and customer-obsessed team by providing leadership, role clarity, training, and career development.
  • Maintain open communication channels with staff and implement change management interventions as needed.
  • Provide definition of roles, responsibilities, individual goals, and performance objectives for the team.
  • Set KPIs and provide regular performance feedback through a well-defined and implemented performance review program within the Operations business unit.
  • Encourage knowledge transfer through the development and implementation of a knowledge transfer plan and drive a continuous improvement philosophy through the knowledge transfer plan.
  • Performance manage resources in accordance with financial management policy and legislation where necessary.
Governance, Risk, and Business Continuity Management
  • Ensure that appropriate governance systems are in place and in line with future requirements, i.e., policies, procedures, s and reporting structures.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all Operations programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets.
  • Stay up to date with new trends and technology innovations in collaborations
  • Manage business risk through continuous internal and external monitoring of business impact, as well as changes in stakeholder needs.
  • Lead and guide improvement projects that will increase revenue and profits or protect against risks in the sales function.
  • Establish and maintain the highest ethical standards in operational practices.
  • Ensure the business unit is fully compliant with all Netstar initiatives through conducting regular audits and taking corrective action.
External Parties and Relationship Management
  • Oversee relationship with service providers, OEMs, dealerships, consumers, etc and ensure all the services are delivered properly through Operations Departments like Planning, Technical Department, Contact Centres, etc
  • Evaluate the performance of Operations, and report any deviations to the relevant department for any corrective actions.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field required from any accredited institution of Higher Education.
  • A post-graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
  • 6+ years of progressive Operations management, Auto industry, Asset mobility management industry, OEM-related Marketing and Sales experience at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the actions of others by building credibility through fleet management knowledge, general operations, OEM understanding, dealership knowledge, effective recommendations, clear communications, honesty, and demonstrated follow-up on promises.
  • Understands all types of agreements in the asset mobility space and required performance and policy compliance.
Other Requirements
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in managing a company-wide Operations function.
  • Experience in producing long-term strategies
  • A good knowledge of business processes.
  • Finger on the pulse of up-and-coming trends in relation to Sales within the Telematics industry
