We are looking for a highly competent and detail-oriented Executive/Senior Executive, Purchaser for one of our global shipping clients. This role is responsible for planning and managing all activities that involve Sourcing, Procurement, Services, Logistics management, warehouse and inventory (where applicable) to support a Global Operational footprint. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering discipline, with a minimum of 2 years ofpurchasing and negotiation experience within a shipping company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute procurement activities in compliance with internal policies and legal requirements within the countries that the company operates in.
• Process requisitions and purchase orders in SAP within defined timelines (1–3 days for urgent, 3–5 days for normal).
• Manage suppliers, freight, and last-mile deliveries.
• Ensure timely good receipt processing and accurate SAP documentation.
• Resolve open POs, open VIMs, and held POs within 30 days.
• Monitor and report cost savings (target: 5% lower than lowest quote).
• Submit weekly/monthly reports (CBH, Held PO, Open PO, Open VIM).
• Maintain complete PO documentation in SAP.
• Provision of MIS reports and continual improvement of the process.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma/Degree Holder in Supply Chain Management discipline or Diploma/Degree in Engineering discipline.
• Minimally 1 – 5 years of purchasing & negotiation experience.
• Well versed in MS Office, familiar with SAP (MM Module) is preferred.
• Possess effective planning and analytical skills.
• Good interpersonal negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
• Able to handle routine tasks and follow procedures to keep documentation consistent.
