What the role is:
The candidate will be required to sense-make and identify emerging issues and opportunities as part of pre-emptive and proactive communications.
What you will be working on:
To do so, the candidate will need to be data- and citizen-centric, leverage different communication platforms, and experiment with new and emerging communication trends to achieve impactful and integrated outcomes. The candidate will also manage the Department’s corporate communication functions, including marketing and branding, mainstream media, and social media engagements. Additionally, they will support the Director in stakeholder engagements and handle other projects and duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
• At least 5 years of work experience, preferably in strategic communications planning, crisis communications, media relations, and stakeholder engagement, with demonstrated ability in developing, implementing, and reviewing communication plans
• Intermediate to advanced data analysis and digital communication skills
• A strong team player with excellent interpersonal, writing, and presentation skills, capable of working across teams and with diverse stakeholders, including vendors
• Good knowledge of local and foreign media
• Keen interest in current affairs, emerging trends, and issues, especially those relating to Malay/Muslim matters in the context of Singapore’s multi-racial and multi-religious society, requiring proficiency in English and Malay in speaking and writing
• Willing to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays
• Ability to work well under pressure
