Project Engineer
Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Project Manager to assist in managing site projects, budget preparation, and compliance monitoring. The ideal candidate should hold a Diploma in Engineering or related fields and have a minimum of 2 years of experience. Responsibilities include coordinating with sub-contractors, leading safety meetings, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality policies. A team player with excellent communication skills is preferred, along with a readiness for occasional overseas assignments.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of working experience for diploma holders.
- Preparedness for overseas assignments at times.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the project on site and updating project plan and reports.
- Prepare costing during quotation stage and manage project budget.
- Monitor compliance of project manpower including sub-contractors.
- Lead safety coordination meetings to ensure timely results.
- Coordinate with department managers to monitor milestones and deadlines.
- Analyse data for continuous process improvement.
Skills
Education
- Assist the Project Manager / Asst Project Manager in leading and managing the project on site and updating of project plan, progress and final reports needed for the periodic management meetings.
- Prepare costing during quotation stage, plan and manage project budget including selection and management of sub-contractors.
- Monitor compliance of all project manpower, including sub-contractors on the shipyard management system and achieve the objectives and targets related to quality, occupational health, safety, security and environment.
- Lead the daily vessel safety coordination committee meeting and manage the activities to ensure on-time results and responses to action items including follow-up with other departments, external suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Plan and manage project budget including selection and management of sub-contractors.
- Coordinate with other department managers to monitor milestones and project deadlines.
- Analyse data and information to recommend and ensure continuous process improvement.
- Perform any other tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance to relevant government regulations and company’s quality, safety, health and environmental (QSHE) policies, practices and procedures at all times.
- Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Naval Architecture or related discipline.
- Diploma holders will require 2 years of working experience.
- Excellent communication skills, meticulous, resourceful, able to multi-task.
- A team player with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Preparedness for overseas assignments at times.
