Overview:
Based in our regional hub in Singapore, the Creative Director is a seasoned brand and design expert leading the creative output and integrity of the studio and ensuring the delivery of innovative, brand-led, high-calibre creative solutions across all our clients in the South-East Asia region. Profile: An award-winning creative director with a solid experience in South-East Asia, you have benefited from international exposure that gave you the ambition to embrace global best practices, while being well-aware of and sensitive to local nuances and market realities. You are fluent and enthusiastic about technology, AI and agile ways of working, while not sacrificing the rigour needed to deliver uncompromised creative excellence.

Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable for overall creative excellence, including problem solving, design strategy, quality of craft, innovation within creative team, and impact of creative product.
- Leads local, regional and global key clients, projects and new business across creative approach and content. Owns large, complex projects and pitches that materially impact Landor's goals and metrics.
- Leads the development of design ideas across integrated solutions, demonstrating a profound understanding of target audiences, and applying this accordingly across various channels (Digital, print, experience, etc) to deliver high quality, innovative ideas that drive brand innovation.
- Commercial acumen, responsible for the financial health of our creative team and for the commercial viability of our creative delivery.
- Accountable for the direction of the creative process within the Creative team in collaboration with the ECD and other Creative Directors.
- Accountable for projecting Landor’s image as a creative center of excellence in the market.
- Champions intellectual capital across the studio, identifying gaps and solutions for future growth and seen as a thought-leader internally and externally.
- Forms internal partnerships, influences, resolves conflict, builds alignment, and works effectively across teams to execute the strategy.
- Partners with strategy leaders and other creative discipline leads to merge creative ideas and strategic thinking to create competitive, inspiring and breakthrough design strategies and solutions that transform businesses.
- Partners with Client Services leads to ensure resourcing, delivery phases and financial targets are met as well as to identify growth opportunities.
- Partners with the Studio Manager/Director and Design Directors to ensure maximum utilization and efficiency of permanent and freelance design resources.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with creative and marketing leaders on the client side as well as the creative community across the whole Landor Group and WPP.
- Accountable for ensuring ongoing training and agility of the creative team in important strategic branding and design practices.
- Responsible for team morale and ensuring they are appropriately challenged, inspired and celebrated throughout the course of projects.
- Finds, attracts, onboards and mentors creative talent (DDs, Designers).
- Fosters community within creative staff and accountable for the local creative culture, creating and nurturing a positive and empowering creative culture that is up to date on the latest technologies and future insights and trends.
- Provides ongoing performance evaluation, support, and counsel to the Creative team, addressing creative quality, client development and profitability, collaboration with other creative leads, and staff development.
- Champions and drives internal and external award submissions and wins.
Experience Needed
- Significant design experience in a similar creative environment within a brand/design agency with a strong focus on brand.
- Proven experience in a leadership position in a Creative Director role.
- Experience working with a wide range of consumer and corporate client-businesses in South-East Asia and beyond.
- Strong people management, interpersonal and collaboration skills, with wide and strong industry connections.
- Strength of strategic and creative outlook, understands bold thinking and how it translates into design.
- Comfortable managing stakeholders at varying levels up to C-Suite, with a polished business acumen.
- Growth oriented with a focus on building long-term relationships and growing business.
- Financially savvy – able to establish financial goals for the business and team members.
- Entrepreneurial approach to work. Calls out risks and opportunities and proactively acts on them.
- Optimistic and capable of encouraging the same from others with experience leading and motivating project teams.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Knowledge and POV of current and upcoming creative and design trends.
- Knowledge of trends in other industries, evolving cultural landscapes, as well as economic, political and environmental trends, understanding how they shape how people interact with brands and design.
- Experience in both motion graphics and digital design, capable of overseeing the creative direction, execution, and team leadership for multi-platform projects.
- Excellent technical skills with a range of creative software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Miro, AI tools, and similar – as well as the ability to represent design thinking using traditional design tools and hand sketching.
- Self-aware and can adapt quickly to new situations.
