PURCHASING EXECUTIVE
Job summary
A leading procurement company in Singapore is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage vendor relationships, analyze costs, and ensure timely delivery of products. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background and demonstrated experience in procurement, along with strong analytical and negotiation skills. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to purchasing strategies and maintain efficient supply chain processes.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience as a Procurement Officer or similar role.
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices.
- Understanding of supply chain procedures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.
- Research potential vendors and track orders.
- Ensure timely delivery and maintain records.

- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs

- Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
- Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
- Prepare cost analyses
- Maintain updated records of invoices and contracts
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
- Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors
- Review purchasing agreements with vendors and maintain open lines of communications with those vendors
- Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs based on quarterly and annual numbers
- Stay up to date with industry trends and establish long-term purchasing arrangements with vendors when it is beneficial to the company
- Compare product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contact vendors when there are discrepancies
- Perform other duties as requested by management
- Proven work experience as a Procurement Officer, Purchasing Officer or similar role
- Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
- Understanding of supply chain procedures
- Solid analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
- Knowledge of market research
- Experience in import and export of materials and machineries is required
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Mechanical Engineering background is required
