Regional Legal Counsel (Corporate Governance / Compliance)
Job summary
A recruitment agency in Singapore is looking for a skilled legal professional with 5-7 years PQE. The role involves drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, providing legal advice on compliance and corporate governance, and managing IP-related matters. Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Laws and possess strong drafting and negotiation skills. This position offers a dynamic work environment where multitasking is essential. Qualifications
- 5-7 years PQE in legal, with experience in a law firm or in-house.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while providing clear legal advice.
- Familiarity with corporate governance and compliance programs.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements.
- Advise on compliance, anti-bribery, and labour matters.
- Manage corporate governance and statutory filings.
- Support brand protection and IP matters.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel as needed.
Skills
Education
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements (distribution, resale, vendor/supplier, licensing and sales contracts).
- Provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders on compliance, anti-bribery, data privacy, IP, labour matters and business strategy.
- Identify legal risks in daily operations and propose solutions that balance risk and commercial needs.
- Manage corporate governance matters, including statutory filings and legal documentation.
- Support brand protection initiatives and IP-related matters.
- Coordinate and manage external legal counsel when required.
- Bachelor of Laws and 5–7 years PQE, with experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and provide clear, practical legal advice.
- Familiar with compliance programmes and corporate governance.
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
