Working Hours: Rotating 12-hour Shift (Shift pattern: 1 day shift, night shift, then 2 days off)
We seek highly driven, self-motivated individuals for the role of Baggage Handling System (BHS) Liaison Engineer. As part of the IBST team, Liaison Engineers are essential for daily BHS operations and maintenance, providing swift responses to operational issues and ensuring high system availability. This team works on rotating shifts to maintain 24/7 oversight across four terminals, collaborating closely with other BHS vendors and contractors and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
· Develop a good understanding of the BHS design, and processes and the scope of work for the operations and maintenance
· Collaborate with the appointed BHS Operations & Maintenance contractors to ensure routine preventive and corrective maintenance activities are executed as planned
· Conduct real-time monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and data analysis to detect abnormalities in system performance and take swift mitigation measures in advance to prevent operational disruptions
· Oversee routine tasks including conducting server reboots and managing planned system switchovers
· Perform inspections to assess of equipment health and operation on ground
· Manage day-to-day operational issues and system diversions effectively
· For incidents, make decisions on system diversion to address operational issues to allow business continuity
· Mobilise and deploy manpower resources to facilitate effective recovery effort to minimise operational disruptions
· Provide timely incident reporting and real-time updates to stakeholders
· Conduct monthly tabletop exercises in collaboration with appointed BHS Operations and Maintenance contractors on system failure recovery Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs
· Plan and execute quarterly BHS recovery exercises to ensure all members of BHS recovery team and stakeholders are familiar with the SOPs
· Liaise closely with stakeholders to manage baggage investigations and maintenance coordination
· Generate and distribute daily reports detailing incidents, short-shipped bags, and operational observations
Requirements:
· Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
· Relevant experience in material handling or automation preferred
· Willingness to work in rotating shifts and weekends
· Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
· Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environment and make quick, informed decisions
· Team player possessing a growth mindset and demonstration of resilience
· Familiarity with data analytics and operations management is advantageous
