Job summary

A leading manufacturing company in Johor is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee product logistics and procurement. Job description

Bucher Hydraulics (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. – Taman Desa Cemerlang, Johor

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute valuechain strategies and objectives aligned with company vision, strategies and objectives.
  • Plan and oversee customer orders handling activities such as receiving, assessing and confirming customer orders, inputting customer orders into system, effecting shipments of customer orders and preparing needed documents. Actively communicate with colleagues in China and customers for proper actions when quantity and/or lead time of customer orders are abnormal.
  • Lead application and maintenance processes of Certificate of Origin and Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse.
  • Manage MRP settings, production planning, material forecasting and planning, procurement of raw materials, components, and outsourced services to ensure smooth, efficient production and on-time delivery of customer orders.
  • Plan and oversee domestic and international logistics operations including inbound materials, outbound shipments to customers, importing and exporting processes, customs clearance and declaration.
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and cost optimization, monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to cost, delivery, quality, or service.
  • Control work in process and inventory levels and ensure accuracy through daily management and proper cycle count processes.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and finance to align the value chain with business needs.
  • Track and report valuechain performance KPIs such as sales, OTD of customer orders, production volume, production lead time, working capital, non-moving and slow-moving stocks, production and purchase cost reductions, etc.
  • Identify supply risks and develop contingency plans to reduce operational disruptions.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, trade regulations, and industry standards.
  • Lead, train, and develop the valuechain team to achieve high performance and operational excellence.
  • Other responsibilities defined by management team of the company.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Trade, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain management with a managerial role in a mechanical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a multinational company with import and export processes is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
  • Hands‑on knowledge of planning, purchasing, logistics, warehousing, supplier management.
  • Good understanding of importing, exporting, customs clearance and declaration, Country of Origin, Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills with knowledge of MRP/ERP systems; familiarity with JD Edwards preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
  • Sharp market insight and ability to adjust value chain management according to market trends.
  • Ability to lead a team and collaborate with cross‑functional departments.
  • Strong problem‑solving capabilities and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and supply chain tools.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 systems.
