Underwriting Associate, Engineering role supporting underwriting processes and compliance at QBE, a global insurer focused on digital innovation and ESG.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Support underwriters by reviewing documents, processing applications, and determining acceptance or rejection per company guidelines.
- Assist with underwriting various products and triaging inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and guidelines.
- Collect, compile, and analyse market information to share with the team.
- Support credit control in payment collection by coordinating with intermediaries.
- Track, report, and analyse the team's referrals, backlogs, and productivity.
- Act as the digital ambassador of the team.
- Recommend initiatives to streamline policies and processes.
- Provide interpretation and advice on policies, processes, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate data in relevant systems and databases.
- Deliver business results by meeting operational KPIs and ensuring risk awareness and governance.
About You
What you'll need:
- Fresh graduates with Engineering degrees, ideally in Civil, Chemical, or Electrical disciplines.
- Fluency in English with confident articulation of ideas.
- Comfortable engaging with various stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of Excel is an advantage.Experience with underwriting and insurance coursework.
