We are currently seeking a TS - Senior Electrical Engineer/ Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur. Successful candidates would be offered a fixed term of employment.

In the roles as Lead Engineer
- Effective resource management of the team and ability to manage tasks efficiently with the team.
- Work efficiently and effectively towards meeting the project milestones of hours, cost and project schedules.
- Take leadership for Electrical discipline activities in multi-disciplinary project.
- Work closely with cross functional departments (PMD/ECP/Procurement) for results.
- Responsible for electrical engineering design activities on Onshore / Offshore project executions.
Main Accountabilities
DESIGN BASIS, CODE & STANDARD
- Understanding and applying knowledge of International Codes and Standards, Industrial Standards and Practices as applicable, and interpretation and application of the requirement to meet project requirements.
- Understanding and applying knowledge of Local Codes and Standards, identify discrepancies with any international standards, competent to resolve problems /troubleshoot based on Codes & Standards interpretation.
- Understand limitations of Codes and Standards, knowledge of Local laws and applicable regulatory requirements and apply with accuracy and effectiveness.
- In-depth understanding of client specifications (e.g. PTS, DEP, etc.) and provide service which meets contract requirements.
- Review and raise clarifications on the Contractual documents / ITB (Invitation to Bid) in case of ambiguity in definition / lack of clarity / lack of reference / areas of doubt, based on experience / judgment.
KNOWLEDGE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES
- Review Specifications and Data Sheets, P&IDs, Plot plans, GA drawings, Review Philosophies, Area Classification Drawings and other relevant documents.
- Prepare the design basis, single line-diagrams, equipment and cable sizing calculations and other material and equipment analysis for client approval.
- Guide engineers in the preparation of equipment and material specifications and data sheets.
- Develop detailed engineering calculations and drawings including Load list/schedule, SLDs, schematics, cable schedules, interconnection schedules, equipment layouts, cable routing, lighting, earthing, heat tracing, installation drawings, protection drawings, and other required documents.
- Perform/review and analyze results of load flow, short circuit, voltage dips and transient studies, relay coordination and design calculations for lighting, earthing and lightning protection; recommend way forward.
- Prepare inquiries to vendors, participate in technical evaluation of bids, review vendor drawings and ensure specifications meet client requirements and budget.
- Prepare Purchase Requisitions and ensure materials are obtained within timeframes and budgeted costs.
- Coordinate IDCs with other engineering disciplines for integrated data inputs.
- Witness vendor FAT / shop testing, inspect vendor works and issue dispatch clearance and test certificates as required.
- Resolve issues related to equipment testing during shop testing.
- Participate in ELSOR/HAZOP meetings and close out action points.
- Interface with construction sites and commissioning engineers; provide startup support as required.
- Explore cost-saving options / energy efficient measures during project execution or proposal, if requested.
- Perform related duties as directed by Direct Supervisor.

- Input to other disciplines deliverables such as layout and utility requirements
- Weight data and foundation loading input
- Equipment interface details
VENDOR DATA REVIEW (VDR)
- Expert review on vendor documents to meet Codes and Standards, Local Regulations, project and disciplines requirements
- Interface with other disciplines like piping, process, civil, structural and instrumentation.
- Understand interface issues with other disciplines, and resolve conflicts
- Conduct VDR meetings with vendor to shorten duration and support project progress.
EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURING KNOWLEDGE
- Understand manufacturing process, long lead components, critical specifications of equipment, critical element/ critical path and impact on delivery
- Able to anticipate effectively to improve delivery schedule of Vendor equipment
PERFORM AS LEAD ENGINEER ROLE
- Provide total commitment to meet project values, monitor progress to achieve delivery schedule and execute within budget/resources.
- Proactively escalate and communicate in a timely manner.
- Provide pro-activeness, creativity and efficiency in project execution.
- Coordinate and plan resources for execution of project.
- Review contract requirements, identify discrepancies, plan and prepare Technical deliverables, man-hour estimates and schedules across project phases (conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED, EPC, EPCM, PMC).
- Advise Head of Department on manpower and skill levels required for smooth execution.
- Distribute and assign work to the project team to meet schedule.
- Manage development of detailed engineering calculations and drawings; apply lessons learned.
- Conduct regular team meetings; resolve issues and plan the way forward to meet requirements and quality.
- Ensure coordination among team members; maintain project filing system and adhere to standards.
- Liaise with other departments/ disciplines, clients and third parties.
- Be responsible for the quality of work produced; produce the discipline close-out report after project completion.
- Act as the discipline Project Engineer to ensure project is executed within schedules and budget.
TECHNICAL AUDITS
- Carry out technical audits on request; investigate and resolve quality complaints or incidents as needed.
OTHERS
- Good professional judgment, proactive leadership to meet project needs and handle complex situations.
- Deliver quality engineering deliverables and meet JV/Client expectations.
- Fulfill QA/QHSES aspects with good teamwork.
Starting Date: Immediately
About you
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering approved by the Board of Engineers Malaysia or equivalent.
- For Engineer: at least 4 years electrical engineering design experience in onshore/offshore application.
- For Senior Engineer: at least 8 years post-graduate experience in similar electrical engineering design for onshore/offshore.
- Preferably registered Professional Engineer (PE) with local board or approved equivalent. Practising Certificate (PEPC) advantageous for Lead Engineer.
Additional Information
- Willing to travel and be stationed at various Engineering Operating Centers / Client Offices as needed (overseas assignments).
- Site experience with OEM (1-2 years).
- Exhibit and maintain good relationships with client, peers, equipment vendors and suppliers.
