Key Responsibilities
- In-charge of tooling conceptualization, detailed design reviews and production line/tooling installations
- Manage projects from stages in specifications, conceptualization, setup, debugging and improvements to final release to production users
- Engage in ongoing equipment improvement programs to ensure continuous quality, productivity and cost improvements
- Liaise with vendors on project integration to ensure productivity and quality improvements
- Improve tooling for maximum yield gain
- Reverse Engineering support of product redesign for customer request
- Plan, organize, and supervise production schedules
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are met
- Allocate resources efficiently and manage manpower in the production department
- Monitor and improve production processes to optimize efficiency
- Coordinate with quality control, maintenance, and toolroom departments
- Implement cost control measures and reduce wastage
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Prepare production reports and provide insights for process improvement
Candidates who do not meet all the requirements for the Toolroom / Production Manager role may still be considered for Senior Tooling Engineer positions
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent with minimum 5 years working experience within a tool engineering environment
- Proficient in Tooling engineering (mechanical drawing, mechanical principles, etc.)
- Good knowledge on metal working technique such as tool manufacturing, tool assembly, composite tooling
- Strong understanding of stamping tooling concepts, processes, and maintenance
- Strong analytical revolution of planning skills; able to work independently; good communication and coordination skills to liaise with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Hands‑on and proactive attitude in problem‑solving and continuous improvement
