Job summary

A leading integrated electronics manufacturer located in Johor, Malaysia, is seeking a Tooling Manager to lead the tool design and development process. The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of experience with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role. Responsibilities include managing customer relations for new tool manufacturing and providing engineering support in tooling optimization. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD and UG NX is required. Competitive salary of MYR 7,000 - 9,000 will be offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in plastic molding tool design and development.
• At least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong problem-solving skills in repairing and maintaining broken tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage activities related to RQF, quotation, DFM, and tool design.
• Act as primary contact for customers on new tool manufacturing.
• Perform audits and verification of critical design changes.
• Troubleshoot and service tools for precision components.
• Provide engineering support in tooling manufacture and optimization.
• Inspect finished dies and test/repair damaged patterns.
• Manage and develop a high-performing tool room team.
• Set departmental objectives and KPIs, implement corrective actions.
• Prepare reports on target achievements and recommend actions.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage activities related to RQF, quotation, DFM, tool design, and manufacturing.
• Act as the primary contact point for customers on new tool manufacturing and ECN implementation during and after tool fabrication.
• Perform audit and verification of critical design changes according to procedures and guidelines.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and servicing tools used in the production of precision components.
• Provide engineering support in tooling manufacture, optimization, and commissioning.
• Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects; test and repair broken or damaged patterns; modify articles to meet specifications.
• Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing tool room team to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement.
• Set departmental objectives and KPIs, regularly review performance, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Prepare reports on target achievements and recommend necessary actions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Polymer, Tooling, Manufacturing, or other related disciplines).
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in plastic molding tool design and development, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, UG NX 10 & 11, Mold Flow, Moldex, 3D/2D drawing, CNC Programming, EDM, Wire-cut.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in repairing and maintaining broken tools.

Salary Range: MYR 7,000 - 9,000
