Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Ford Automotive Technician to join our team at SNS Kembara Utama Sdn. Bhd. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Ford vehicles in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with Ford systems and a passion for delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing & Repairing Vehicles: Diagnose and repair Ford vehicles efficiently, including electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic systems (e.g., engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, etc.).
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform standard maintenance tasks on Ford vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
  • Computerized Diagnostics: Utilize Ford’s diagnostic software (e.g., Ford IDS) to troubleshoot, analyze, and repair vehicle issues.
  • Customer Communication: Explain technical issues to customers in a clear and concise manner, providing recommended services and costs.
  • Parts and Tools Management: Use the correct tools, equipment, and Ford-certified parts to complete repairs and maintenance.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and ensure all work is completed according to Ford's service guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Upgrades and Software Updates: Perform software updates, reprogramming, and other technical enhancements on Ford vehicles as required.
  • Test Drives: Conduct test drives to verify repairs and confirm proper vehicle operation.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all service work performed, including parts used, labor time, and vehicle condition.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Service Advisors and other team members to ensure timely and efficient vehicle repairs and services.
  • Training & Development: Stay up-to-date on the latest Ford technology, recalls, and service procedures by attending training sessions and manufacturer seminars.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: SKM minimum level 2, High school diploma or equivalent required. Formal automotive training or certification.
  • Experience: Fresh Graduate, minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of vehicle systems, including engine, electrical, transmission, and diagnostic systems.
  • Diagnostic Tools: Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment computer and other diagnostic tools.
  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues on vehicles.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, safety, and high-quality service.
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication skills for explaining repairs and maintenance to customers.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy parts, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
