Job description

Responsible for all C&I related plant maintenance, supervision of contractors, engineering and project work with the primary objective of ensuring that plant availability and reliability are maximised. Resolving problems and offering solutions, work in accordance with site procedures and maintenance strategies to ensure operational performance is maintained.

Assist the Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer in planning and coordinating the Station’s Control & Instrumentation (C&I) maintenance programme.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Ensure the safe and efficient execution of all C&I maintenance activities.
  • Should be conversant with all plant PLC or computerised systems.
  • Will be required to carry out activities including testing, calibration and repairs on the different types of transmitters, control valves, switches, local controllers, vibrations probes and others on a CCGT plant.
  • Must be capable in troubleshooting all plant equipment C&I problems as required.
  • Will be required to recommend C&I spare parts for the plant equipment.
  • Will be required to identify all C&I tools required for the C&I workshop.
  • Will be required to advise on the set up of the power plant C&I maintenance workshops.
  • Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence.
  • To perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification and Competency (License)
  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering
  • Diploma or Certificate in Electronic Engineering or
  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Authorized Entrance and Standby Person (AESP)
Work Experience

Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope:

  • Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope, 1-2 years in maintenance of power plants or similar plant industries.
  • Good knowledge of controls & instrumentation diagram, P&ID, logic diagrams.
  • Good knowledge of the GE Speedtronics MKVI / MKV and Siemens Automation systems.
  • Sound knowledge of all relevant technical systems of a power plant.
Skills and Behaviour Traits
  • Ability to write and speak in Bahasa Malaysia and English language.
  • Able to work in team.
  • Responsible and reliable workmanship.
  • Awareness of importance of HSE compliance.
