Job summary

A hospitality management company in Penang is seeking a Team Leader for Engineering/Preventive Maintenance. This role involves overseeing the engineering department's operations, ensuring safety, compliance with standards, and management of maintenance contracts. Candidates should have a minimum diploma in a related field, strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and excellent English communication skills. The position is open to local and permanent residents of Malaysia only.

  • Excellent command of English language (oral and written).

  • Supervise engineering team members and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Assist in managing maintenance contracts and budgets.

Team Leader, Engineering/ Preventive Maintenance
  • Engineering to take responsibility for the safe and efficient running of the engineering department manpower

  • - Immediately reporting any occurrence or situation that he feels is dangerous or has the potential to cause business interruption to the Manager on Duty.
  • - Carry out any task function or action detailed to him by the Manager / Engineering / Assistant Manager / Engineering that may be reasonably expected of him in performance of his duties as a senior engineering manager.
  • - Ensure discipline and obedience to all statutory laws and company policies by engineering department team members.
  • - Ensure complete compliance to company grooming standards at all times within the engineering department.
  • - Ensure all Engineering Team Members are supervised, taking responsibility for the professional growth and personal welfare.
  • - Oversee all technical works ensuring consistent quality and attention to detail.
  • - Assist Engineering Department with the operation maintenance, upgrade and installation of all building systems including (but not limited to).
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to champion all aspects of energy conservation and consumption, producing year on year reports demonstrating a sustainable reduction in energy consumption.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to manage (prepare scopes of work, oversee work and monitor reports) maintenance contracts as detailed in the OHG engineering polices.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to prepare and monitor all aspect of Planned Preventative Maintenance of all building systems and machinery to ensure optimum reliability, low and efficient energy consumption, reduced life cycle costing and reduced Total Cost of Ownership.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to manage outsourced contract work including preparation of Scope of Works, review of proposal, oversee and supervise works, acceptance, commissioning and testing and monitor reports.
  • - Assist in preparation and overseeing of renovation and new design work. Paying attention to design and statutory compliance issues.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to prepare and manage POMEC operational budget to meet unit operational demands and OHG technical standards. Paying due diligence to cost control and quality standards simultaneously.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to prepare and manage POMEC CAPEX budget to meet unit operational demands and OHG technical standards.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to prepare and manage property Long Term Replacement Plan ensuring plant and machinery operated with due respect to Life Cycle Costing and Total Cost of Ownership.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to schedule and manage the POMEC manpower schedule to ensure the most cost effective yet efficient operation of the property ensuring safe and reliable conditions for guests and team members.
  • - Adhere to the OHG Fire Life & Safety Matrix to ensure optimum performance of the properties essential services during an emergency situation.
  • - Prepare for and follow up on the OHG Annual Fire Life & Safety Audit.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to manager and monitor FLS training and Emergency Response Team scheduling to ensure 24/7 coverage in order to effectively deal with incidents.
  • - Ensure compliance with all legal and governmental statutory requirements.
  • - Assist the Engineering Department to manage Team Member breakdown work orders to provide the most cost effective yet quality driven response to fixing guest and team member related engineering issues.
  • - Ensure a safe work environment to all Team Members.
