T&T Manager - Legal Counsel (Term Hire)

Location: Jakarta, ID

We seek a technically solid Legal Manager who can work independently while functioning well with a team, who is serious about building a career in-house with a top-tier organization. In this role, you will cover the region while being based in Indonesia and report directly to the QRM Partner in Singapore and play an important part in dealing with contractual and legal risk in the Deloitte SEA offices.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support negotiations in a broad range of commercial contracts with internal and external clients and suppliers, such as regional and global engagement arrangements, confidentiality agreements, referrals, teaming and sub‑contracting arrangements, and tenders.
  • Support the Contracts team and/or coordinate with external counsel where necessary in advising on, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating on vanilla, novel and complex commercial matters.
  • Travelling is required from time to time.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of legal policies, rules, and guidelines.
  • Remain updated on legal developments and continue to develop best practices tailored to Deloitte’s business needs.
  • Candidate of the right aptitude will also be given exposure to the following areas and have the opportunity to develop subject‑matter expertise in multi‑jurisdictional commercial arrangements, the law of privacy, and/or investigative/contentious work.

Requirements
  • A recognised law degree from an established university, and a qualification in Indonesian law.
  • Strong legal knowledge for Consulting/IT Industry and/or associated legislation, regulations and guidelines, corporate law and analytical skills (both technical and operational aspects) and handling commercial contracts.
  • 5-8 years of relevant post‑qualification experience in a reputable law firm, with a strong foundation in corporate and commercial work; and/or experience in a good in‑house legal team.
  • Ability to work independently in advising on, drafting, reviewing and negotiating documents on a broad range of commercial matters.
  • Exposures to management consulting or IT industry is desirable.
  • A good understanding of risk management and commercial practices.
  • Ability to engage confidently and effectively with different people across different seniorities, expertise, roles and culture.
  • Versatility in thinking and a large appetite for learning.
