Job Purpose / Objective

This role is for our subsidiary, Kenanga Investors Berhad, and is responsible for supporting the Head in the planning, execution, and maintenance of system‑related initiatives to ensure efficient application operations, accurate reporting, and reliable IT support for business operations. The role covers system testing, deployment, reporting, documentation, vendor coordination, and ensuring users are equipped with the necessary IT resources to perform their daily tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. System Project & Application Support

  • Assist the Head in planning, coordinating, and executing system‑related projects.
  • Conduct requirement studies and support the translation of business requirements into system enhancements.
  • Handle, support, and ensure the smooth daily operation of application systems.

2. System Testing, Deployment & Documentation

  • Perform System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system changes and enhancements.
  • Execute system file deployment in accordance with approved change management procedures.
  • Prepare, update, and ensure proper maintenance of IT and system documentation.

3. Reporting & Data Management

  • Use SQL to generate daily, monthly, and ad‑hoc reports as required by user departments.
  • Support mandatory reporting, business analysis, and management information needs.

4. IT Operations & System Administration

  • Ensure users are equipped with the necessary IT resources, system access, and tools to perform daily operational tasks.
  • Perform system administration activities, including system configuration, maintenance, and user support.

5. Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with external parties, vendors, and Group IT on IT needs and system requirements to support business operations.
  • Coordinate issue resolution, system changes, and operational support with internal and external stakeholders.

6. Disaster Recovery (DR) & Business Continuity

  • Assist in conducting Disaster Recovery (DR) simulation tests twice a year.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and successful execution of DR testing activities and related documentation.

7. Training & Continuous Development

  • Attend internal and external training programs to enhance technical skills, system knowledge, and professional development.

8. Ad‑hoc Responsibilities

  • Undertake ad‑hoc assignments or duties as directed by the superior from time to time, in support of business and operational needs.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technical operations support, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and hands‑on experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of working knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), including data extraction and report generation.
  • Experience in system support, testing (SIT/UAT), and deployment will be an added advantage.
  • Basic understanding of IT governance, documentation, and change management practices.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with users, vendors, and Group IT.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
