Job Description — Reporting to the Regional Planning Manager; Asia dotted to Planning Manager, Malaysia. This role manages customer service levels and inventories by planning the supply of (semi-) finished goods from factories towards receiving factories or logistic warehouses, considering capacity restrictions and material availability of Johor Instant Plant. The role is responsible for creating a detailed scheduled plan from planned orders provided on a weekly basis by the Regional Supply Planner (principal). The position will be a member of the Supply Chain Asia leadership team. Based in Johor, the role will be directly responsible for regional planning and scheduling of Johor Instant Plant.
Responsibilities
- Ensure supply of the right volumes at the right time through weekly capacity and production plans, balancing demand, capacity, and material availability to optimize inventory.
- Coordinate supply planning with Manufacturing, Demand Planning, Procurement, NPD, Finance, and manage product launches and phase-outs.
- Lead local monthly IBP Supply meetings and contribute to regional Supply reviews.
- Develop capacity scenarios and support decision‑making for short, mid, and long‑term horizons.
- Monitor daily and weekly performance; drive continuous improvement in service, stock, and production adherence.
- Convert planned orders into detailed production schedules optimized for changeovers and cleaning, without altering weekly SKU volumes.
- Communicate and manage deviations in fixed plans with the Regional Supply Planner and factory stakeholders.
- Create and hand over weekly production plans considering capacity, materials, safety stocks, and demand.
- Manage short‑term disruptions (material shortages, breakdowns, quality issues, rush orders) and coordinate corrective actions.
- Develop mid‑/long‑term capacity and inventory plans (1–18 months) aligned with service, cost, and cash targets.
- Define and improve Make‑to‑Stock and Make‑to‑Order ways of working.
- Manage stock levels, alerts, and approvals for key planning parameters; maintain planning master data.
- Plan co‑manufacturing flows where applicable to ensure component and capacity availability.
- Lead inventory reduction and supply shortage allocation initiatives.
- Track and improve KPIs including Customer Service, Stock Levels, and TOP/TAP.
- Execute day‑to‑day scheduling, follow up with production, manage overdue orders, and report adherence and deviations.
- For principal factories, align regularly with production and maintenance to provide available capacity to Regional Supply Planning.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors’ Degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Admin or equivalent.
Experience:
- At least 3–6 years of working knowledge of APO, SAP, OMP or any other ERP system(s).
- Capacity Planning Tools & Processes
- Distribution Network & Processes
- Preferably with at least 3–6 years in assistant manager/ senior planner / executive role.
- Microsoft Office – Excel, Word & PowerPoint is a MUST
- Manufacturing network knowledge
- IBP (Integrated Business Planning) knowledge preferred.
- 3–6 years of business experience in Supply Chain including, but not limited to, production & fulfilment planning, distribution operations and/or demand planning.
