What you'll do
- Lead and direct the supply chain coordination and inventory control teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Define, develop, and standardize business processes within the Business Management System (BMS).
- Design and implement learning & development plans for team members to enhance performance and role delivery.
- Monitor team performance using KPIs, alerts, and QDFIPS metrics to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Analyze material flow data and report insights to management on supply constraints, inventory levels, and cost impacts.
- Coordinate parts ordering and delivery for production changes and project builds to maintain seamless operations.
- Optimize system parameters (e.g., inventory safety days, unit loads) to improve material flow efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to drive supply chain improvements and innovation.
- Coach suppliers to enhance delivery performance using tools like VSIM, 8D reports, and escalation protocols.
- Ensure accurate two-way communication with suppliers, including release orders and ASN compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to refine systems and processes within Production Supply Chain (PSC).
- Manage change orders to minimize obsolete stock and ensure uninterrupted material transitions.
- Track departmental KPIs and contribute to MP&L management functions, including long-term planning and flow optimization.
- Uphold Volvo Cars’ principles, emphasizing integrity, sustainability, and ethical standards in all activities.
Competence and Qualification Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, IT, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent qualifications.
- 3-5 years of experience in operational supply chain planning, preferably in automotive/JIT/JIS environments.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset.
- Strong leadership capabilities in strategic thinking, collaboration, and team empowerment.
- Expertise in international/domestic supplier management and relationship building.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive material planning systems and processes.
- Self-driven, results-oriented approach with a commitment to ethical practices and transparency.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment that values diversity and innovation.
