Overview
Themetech is searching for a qualified structural engineer to design and analyze structures (for Theme Park Facility and Semi-conductor Facility Construction Projects) and ensure they are safe, stable, and durable against various forces. The engineer’s duties include creating designs using CAD software, calculating loads and stresses with calculation software (PKPM, 3d3m, Ansys or other guild certificated), selecting appropriate materials, conducting site inspections, and ensuring compliance with required codes and standards. The role involves collaboration with design teams, consultants, architects and contractors and oversight of construction to ensure projects meet safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the early stage of feasibility assessments, prepare design briefs, define technical requirements, and oversee the structural design process. Create plans, models, and drawings for structures using CAD software, perform calculations with software to ensure structural integrity and safety, and produce structure skeleton & engineering calculation report for PE endorsement.
- Review design proposals, shop drawings, optimize designs, and ensure the structural design meets regulations requirements, manufacturability, ease of fabrication & installation, and cost effectiveness.
- Work closely with internal design teams, architects, contractors, civil / mechanical engineers, and other professionals to develop and execute project designs. Attend design meetings / online meetings with respective design team, project team and clients regularly.
- Ensure that designs and constructions meet local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and health and safety standards in the country where the project is located.
- Identify potential hazards and risks related to structural elements and propose mitigation strategies.
- Follow up on project implementation-related drawings and changes to ensure alignment with approved design plans; oversee the implementation of relevant technical samples.
- Participate in discussions related to design processes, outcomes, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collect information on new products and technologies to provide reference materials for project design.
- Study Theme Park GPS (General Performance Specification) and optimize structure design workflow.
- Perform field visits and write reports detailing project viability and progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil / Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction, or related field. Registered Structural Engineer is preferred.
- Familiar with relevant steel structure design codes and standards.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in steel structure design; proficient in schematic and construction drawing design; involved in at least 2 full-cycle design projects.
- Experience in in-depth project cost optimization is preferred.
- Good English commands in reading and oral communication.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with a strong sense of purpose and responsibility.
- Experience in a leadership role
- Proficient in structural design software such as 3D3M and AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; experience in other 3D modeling software i.e. Rhino, Revit is a plus.
