Job summary

A leading supplier in materials management based in Malaysia is seeking a procurement specialist to enhance their purchasing strategy. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in supply chain management and a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Responsibilities include researching suppliers, negotiating purchase agreements, and conducting price comparisons. This position allows for remote work with regular travel required, emphasizing strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain.
• Experience with IATF and VDA is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate potential suppliers and develop new vendors.
• Negotiate and coordinate with suppliers and departments.
• Source and procure materials as per project requirements.
• Conduct regular price comparison and market analysis.
• Prepare timely reports and analyses.
• Liaise with Purchasing manager for improving processes.

Job description

Responsible for the research and evaluate potential suppliers and develop new vendors in Asia accordance to company's SOP. Will focus on wire, PCBAs and support plastics.

Negotiate and coordinate with supplier and cross functional department for best possible purchase.

Source and procure materials or equipment according to project requirements.

Keep abreast of market or price situation and conduct regular price comparison.

Preparing reports and analysis in timely manner.

Liase with Purchasing manager for any improvement to the purchasing process/flow/system to enhance the work efficiency and effectiveness.

Perform other duties assigned by manager.

Requirements:

• Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Purchasing/Supply Chain/ any related field.
• At least 10 years of working experience in this related field.
• Experienced with the IATF and VDA are advantage.
• This position is required to work from home.
• Required regular travel.
• Meticulous, analytical, self motivated and results oriented.
• Ability to work independently and have excellent negotiation skills.
• Good computer skills especially in Microsoft Office Applications.
