Job Description
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
- Customs Clearance Management:
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end customs clearance process for all import shipments, ensuring compliance with all applicable local and international regulations.
- Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of customs forms, including K1, K2, K8/9, ZB, and Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of shipping documents for accuracy and compliance with customs requirements.
- Lead brokerage compliance and all customs clearance activities for import shipments, managing interactions with regulatory agencies such as MITI, MIDA, SIRIM, and Customs.
Qualifications
- Logistics Operations & Coordination:
- Prepare operational schedules and coordinate import logistics activities for timely and compliant delivery.
- Manage and coordinate with shunting transporters for efficient delivery and pick-up of import shipments.
- Materials Purchasing Management:
- Develop material requirement plans based on production schedules and create purchase requisitions in SAP.
- Create purchase orders in SAP and coordinate with suppliers after approval.
- Track delivery of purchase orders to ensure timely receipt of materials.
- Transfer purchase documents to the Finance Department for processing.
- Regulatory Compliance & Exemptions:
- Manage applications for NPCO/PCO COO to meet customer origin certification requirements.
- Handle application and renewal processes for MIDA certifications to secure duty exemptions.
- Oversee new applications and updates for C1, C3, and CJ5 for SST exemptions.
- Ensure logistics operations comply with trade regulations.
- Initiate SIRIM applications for electronics demonstration equipment as needed.
- Supplier Management & Performance:
- Liaise with logistics suppliers, brokers, and transport companies, negotiating rates in line with company policies.
- Monitor KPIs of suppliers and transporters, implementing improvements as needed.
- Review contracts and SLAs with logistics providers.
- Reporting & Compliance Monitoring:
- Maintain import records and prepare reports.
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise teams to ensure ongoing compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or related fields
- Minimum 5 years experience in import-export processes
- Experience with LMW setup is advantageous
- Knowledge of total logistics, supply chain, and customs requirements
- Experience with SAP is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with customs brokerage
