Reporting into Malaysia Commercial Sales Director, we are searching for a team member to join us as Specification Manager.

What you will be doing
  • Customer Engagement and Relationship Building: Provide expert technical advice and solutions to new and existing customers, identify and engage with potential customers involved in target construction projects to secure specifications and contracts, and share market insights with loyal customers to support their growth and strengthen Knauf’s partnerships.
  • Design and Problem Solving: Develop designs and specifications for architects, designers, and contractors, deliver compliant solutions to design challenges in line with industry standards and codes of practice, and recommend ancillary products to expand Knauf’s offerings.
  • Technical and On‑Site Support: Offer on‑site technical advice, negotiate project‑specific technical terms with sub‑contractors, and support the sales team with training and expertise to enhance customer service and project management.
  • Brand and Industry Representation: Collaborate with the Marketing team to strengthen Knauf’s brand presence and represent the company in professional bodies to influence industry developments and enhance its profile.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other tasks as assigned to support organizational goals.
What we would love for you to have
  • A background as an Engineer or Architect; a postgraduate degree in Marketing or Management is a plus.
  • 5–10 years of experience in technical sales or specification within the building materials industry.
  • Strong business recognition and market awareness of the construction industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for working with people.
  • Strong motivation skills and a collaborative team spirit.
  • A continuous improvement and customer‑centricity.
