Job summary

A leading aerospace company in Penang is seeking an entry-level Procurement Assistant to assist in supplier coordination, issue RFQs, and support sourcing activities for new products. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or bachelor’s degree and an analytical mindset, with 0-2 years of experience preferred. This role also involves compliance with AS9100 standards and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Training is provided for aerospace procurement practices.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of sourcing or procurement experience (preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing).
• Basic understanding of AS9100 or aerospace procurement practices (training provided).
• Ability to read and interpret simple technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Assist in issuing RFQs and collecting supplier quotations.
• Review basic commercial and technical requirements to ensure alignment with Engineering PRS and specifications.
• Support cost comparisons, simple cost analyses, and price benchmarking.
• Prepare and update quote summaries for BAM review.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers capable of meeting aerospace requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers on pricing, lead times, and technical clarifications.
• Monitor supplier compliance with quality and AS9100 standards under supervision.

3. NPI & First Article (FA) Assistance

• Support sourcing activities for new products and First Article submissions.
• Coordinate with Engineering to communicate technical requirements and ensure suppliers receive complete PRS and documentation.
• Track FA-related sourcing status and follow up to ensure timely delivery.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and BAM teams to support procurement decisions.
• Participate in meetings related to design updates, readiness checks, and change management as needed.
• Assist with BOM item code creation and basic purchasing planning activities.

5. Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain sourcing files, supplier records, RFQ documentation, and cost breakdowns.
• Ensure sourcing activities comply with AS9100 procedures and internal workflows.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
