Job description

To provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.

Responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography.

Assessing method of testing, and explaining procedure to patient.

Performed 2D ultrasound scans on Abdomen, Pelvis, Thyroid, Antenatal, Breast, Obstetric, Vascular scans, as well as other examinations as required under minimal supervision.

Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.

Use independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.

Prepared the preliminary sonographer reports and assessed the technical quality and completeness of ultrasounds performed.

Monitored patient comfort level during testing and followed established policies and procedures to ensure the care and safety of the patient while undergoing ultrasound examinations.

Analyse sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician.

Coordinate work schedule to assure workload coverage.

Assist with the daily operations of the sonographic room and patient preparation.
