We are supporting a large-scale digital transformation programme within the water utility sector and are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and governance of enterprise-grade Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions.

This is a critical leadership role for a technically strong architect who can bridge business, technology, and regulatory requirements, and guide multi-vendor teams in delivering scalable, secure, and compliant platforms that support essential public services.

Your Impact

As Solution Architect, you will own the end-to-end solution architecture across Dynamics 365 CE, F&O, and Power Platform components—ensuring alignment with operational workflows, regulatory standards, and long-term enterprise strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture design for D365 solutions covering Billing, CRM, Field Service, Asset Management, Work Orders, and Customer Service
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant system designs
  • Define integration patterns with GIS, payment gateways, billing systems, SCADA, IoT platforms, and legacy systems
  • Govern data models, configuration standards, and custom development practices
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and performance standards
  • Implementation Governance
  • Provide architectural leadership across the full delivery lifecycle—from blueprint to hypercare
  • Oversee system integrators, vendors, and contractors to ensure architectural compliance
  • Review design artefacts, solution builds, functional specs, and test scenarios
  • Assess existing implementations and recommend optimisation or remediation strategies
  • Water Utility Domain Leadership
  • Apply domain expertise across meter-to-cash, NRW management, field operations, asset lifecycle, and customer service
  • Align D365 capabilities to tariff structures, billing cycles, service requests, complaints, and workforce scheduling
  • Advise on Malaysian regulatory requirements (e.g. SPAN, PAAB, MS ISO standards)
  • Act as the architectural authority for senior stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Lead design workshops, solution walkthroughs, and governance reviews
  • Manage vendor performance, deliverables, and technical risk
  • Identify architectural and integration risks with clear mitigation strategies
  • Ensure quality gates, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness
  • Guide performance tuning, load testing, and platform optimisation
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience in enterprise solution architecture, with 6+ years in Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Strong, hands‑on experience with D365 Finance & Operations (mandatory)
  • Deep experience across utilities‑relevant modules: Billing, Asset Management, Field Service, Customer Service, Workflow Automation
  • Track record of leading multi‑vendor, large‑scale transformation programmes
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred
  • Experience in water utility or regulated industry transformations
  • Knowledge of Malaysian water‑sector operations and regulations
  • Certifications such as:
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Architect
  • Azure Solutions Architect (advantage)
  • Exposure to Agile / Hybrid delivery models
