Job summary

A leading company in power infrastructure is seeking a Site Supervisor / Site Engineer to oversee substation Transmission & Distribution projects in Selangor, Malaysia. The successful candidate will be responsible for site execution, quality control, safety management, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure project compliance. Candidates should possess a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering with 2–5 years of relevant experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on live substations and significant power infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience with AIS/GIS substations, cable works, switchgear, and transformer installation preferred.

Job description

The Site Supervisor / Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and coordinating site activities for Substation Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects to ensure works are executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

Supervise civil, electrical, and equipment installation works at substation sites.

Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.

Monitor daily site progress and report issues, delays, or deviations to the Project Manager.

Coordinate subcontractors and site workers to ensure smooth workflow and productivity.

2. Quality Control & Compliance

Conduct site inspections to ensure workmanship meets project quality standards.

Verify installation of switchgear, transformers, cable works, earthing, control panels, and protection systems.

Ensure compliance with utility, TNB, and project QA/QC requirements.

3. Safety & Site Management

Enforce HSE rules, permit-to-work systems, and site safety procedures.

Ensure all works are carried out in a safe and controlled environment, especially during live substation or outage works.

Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site audits.

4. Coordination & Reporting

Liaise with Project Managers, Consultants, and Client representatives on site matters.

Support testing, commissioning, energisation, and handover activities.

Prepare daily site reports, progress updates, and material usage records.

Monitor delivery, storage, and usage of equipment and materials at site.

Ensure materials are installed correctly and in accordance with the approved programme.

Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in substation, T&D, construction or power infrastructure projects.

Experience in AIS/GIS substations, cable works, switchgear, and transformer installation is highly preferred.

Good knowledge of site safety, construction drawings, and work procedures.

Able to work on live substations and outage-based projects.
