Job summary

A leading engineering company in Penang is seeking a Site Safety Supervisor to ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety standards. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, organizing emergency drills, and maintaining documentation. Candidates should have a relevant engineering qualification and valid registration with DOSH. This role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
• Registered Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) with DOSH (valid Yellow Book) is a must.
• Preferably candidates with at least 1 years of working experience in the related field.

Job description

Overview

• Assist in implementing and maintaining Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards at project sites to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and risks, proposing corrective measures to mitigate them.
• Organize and participate in emergency evacuation drills and assist in investigating and reporting workplace accidents or incidents.
• Proactively raise health and safety concerns with Supervisors and the Project Manager, ensuring timely action and resolution.
• Ensure compliance with legal and organizational safety, health and environmental regulations and standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation and records to demonstrate adherence to all applicable safety requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to site personnel on safety procedures and best practices.
• Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the superior.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil), Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
• Preferably candidates who has at least 1 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Registered Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) with DOSH (valid Yellow Book) - is a MUST
• Preferably Junior Executives specializing in Engineering - Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
• Able to work independently with good interpersonal skills and able to communicate to all levels.
