Job Purpose:
The position requires a professional responsible for the overall management, coordination, and successful execution of infrastructure, maintenance, and operations projects at a specific site. This role encompasses all aspects of site operations, including providing strategic leadership and direction, aligning operations with company goals and objectives, overseeing personnel, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies—particularly in the areas of safety, quality, and environmental standards—managing procurement, budgets, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Job Description:
Site Operations
- Coordinate and manage all on-site activities, including maintenance, or operations projects.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Supervise and direct site staff, contractors and subcontractors.
- Ensuring that the project adheres to QMS and environmental regulations.
Safety and Compliance
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all personnel comply with safety standards.
- Manage and report any safety incidents or accidents promptly.
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and other relevant quality regulations.
- Conduct regular audits to assess QMS effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)
- Develop and implement Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Conduct training programs to promote EHS awareness and compliance among site personnel.
Procurement
- Oversee procurement processes for site operations, including sourcing, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to support project timelines.
- Monitor and manage procurement budgets to optimize cost-effectiveness.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, and manage site personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of work experience, including at least 8 years in industrial plant management.
- Oversee and promote key management processes, rules, and regulations. Optimize and adjust organizational structures and processes as needed. Lead the development of corporate culture and enhance the corporate identity system.
- Proficient in Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Comprehensive knowledge of local Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, with proven experience in developing and implementing EHS policies and procedures.
- Experience in procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor selection, and contract negotiation, to effectively support site operations.
- Familiarity with the SAP system is an added advantage.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across different levels and cultures.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of recruiting, training, and managing site personnel effectively.
- Proactive, well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Strong command of English, enabling clear communication and impactful leadership in a dynamic environment.
- This position is based in Chennai (willing to relocate to Chennai).
