A leading agriculture technology company is seeking a Technical Service & Support Engineer based in Klang City, Selangor. The role involves installation, troubleshooting, and customer training for agricultural equipment. Ideal candidates will have a degree in relevant engineering fields and 2–5 years of experience in field service or technical sales. Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting is essential, along with a strong customer service mindset. The position may require travel to project sites and working on weekends or public holidays.
BD Agriculture (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd – Bukit Raja, Selangor
Perform installation, testing, service, and commissioning of BD equipment systems.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults at the farm sites.
Conduct electrical fault finding and troubleshooting for control circuits, sensors, actuators, motors, and power systems.
Inspect wiring, grounding, and power distribution to identify and rectify hazards or inefficiencies.
Carry out loop checks, insulation resistance testing, and continuity testing
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of system technologies and provide technical guidance to customers.
Maintain accurate service reports, checklist and maintenance history for each customer
Collaborative Problem Solving: Work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Tech teams to anticipate and resolve complex customer challenges before they escalated
Identify and pursue new business opportunities via service visits and promote relevant spare parts, upgrades, or service maintenance contracts.
Provide technical advice and sales support in upselling of sub-system, promote appropriate solutions for farm maintenance and propose cost-effective replacements or upgrades based on diagnostic reports and lifecycle data
Work closely with project engineers, site supervisors, and contractors during installation and deployment phases.
Ensure project timelines are met, and installation quality standards are upheld.
Manage changes and variation orders in technical specifications
Conduct on-site training for farm operators on equipment use, safety, and maintenance.
Prepare and submit service reports, checklists, and feedback after each visit.
Provide recommendations to improve system performance and farm efficiency to the customer.
Support onboarding and usability: Ensure farmers are onboarded effectively understanding BD systems (from trainings) and anticipating any potential challenges and addressing them before they arise
Anticipate Customer Needs: Regularly check in with farmers to proactively identify issues, suggest improvements, and ensure the technology is delivering optimal value.
Feedback Loop & Product Advocacy: Actively gather customer feedback to anticipate future needs and inform product development, ensuring the solution evolves to meet farmers’ changing challenges.
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
Min. 2–5 years’ experience in field service, technical sales, or equipment installation, preferably in agriculture or livestock equipment.
Hands-on knowledge in mechanical assemblies, electrical control panels;
Strong Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and network communication protocols (e.g., LAN, IP configuration).
Experience in automation systems and industrial networking will be an added advantage
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering and wiring diagrams.
Customer service mindset with good interpersonal communication.
Willingness to travel (domestic & overseas) to farm or project sites as per project duration.
Willingness to work on weekends and public holiday as per project duration.
Familiarity with poultry farming operations is an advantage.
