The Senior Warehouse Executive oversees daily warehouse operations, ensures accurate stock management, and coordinates materials flow to support production activities. This role also supervises warehouse staff, improves processes, and maintains compliance with food safety and quality standards in a bakery manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
A. Warehouse Operations Management
- Lead, supervise, and schedule warehouse/store personnel.
- Ensure smooth daily operations including receiving, storage, issuance, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Coordinate closely with Production, QA/QC, Purchasing, and Logistics for timely material flow.
B. Inventory & Stock Control
- Oversee stock accuracy through daily cycle counts, weekly checks, and monthly stocktake.
- Verify and approve stock movement data in the inventory system.
- Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and prevent expired/slow‑moving inventory.
C. Receiving & Storage Management
- Verify incoming deliveries (ingredients, packaging, finished goods) for correct quantity, quality, and document compliance.
- Ensure proper storage based on product requirements (ambient, chilled, frozen).
- Maintain warehouse layout, space optimisation, and safe storage practices.
D. Documentation & System Management
- Ensure all inventory data is updated promptly and accurately.
- Prepare stock reports, variance reports, and wastage reports.
- Support implementation of warehouse systems (e.g., WMS, barcode/QR scanning).
E. Food Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
- Ensure warehouse operations comply with GMP, HACCP, HALAL, ISO, and company SOPs.
- Conduct 5S activities and maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse.
- Support internal and external audits.
F. Staff Training & Performance
- Train team members on warehouse procedures, safety, and quality standards.
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance or coaching when needed.
- Assist HR in disciplinary matters related to warehouse personnel (lateness, safety violations, etc.).
- Analyse operational gaps and recommend improvements to increase efficiency.
- Reduce material wastage, optimise routes, and improve picking accuracy.
- Support automation and digitalisation initiatives.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse experience, preferably in food/bakery/FMCG manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control, warehouse systems, and cold‑room handling.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory/WMS software.
- Physically fit and able to handle fast‑paced environment.
- Forklift certification is an added advantage.
Additional Preferences
- Experience handling HALAL, HACCP, or ISO audits.
- Good planning skills for raw materials and packaging allocation.
- Ability to work extended hours or shifts when required.
