Job Description

The APAC Operations Lead is responsible for driving all Talent Acquisition (TA) compliance, governance, and audit readiness activities across the APAC region. This role serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits, partnering closely with country‑specific HR, TA, Legal/Compliance, and external auditors to ensure full alignment with regulatory, customer, and internal control requirements.

This leader will own the full audit lifecycle—from preparation and documentation management to execution, remediation, and ongoing monitoring. The APAC Operations Lead also acts as the regional subject matter expert (SME) for TA compliance standards, processes, and tools (SmartRecruiters, Workday, Clickboarding, and any future technologies).

Additionally, this role provides first‑line TA tech stack support during APAC business hours, ensuring continuity of operations through troubleshooting, small configuration updates, and partnering with global ops/IT teams on system escalations. This is a hands‑on leadership role with one direct report, responsible for workload management, training, and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Compliance & Audit Leadership (Primary Responsibility)

  • Serve as the regional audit lead for APAC, owning all Talent Acquisition–related audit activities (internal audits, external 3rd‑party audits, customer audits, regulatory compliance reviews).
  • Manage full audit lifecycle: scoping, documentation collection, evidence preparation, walkthroughs, corrective action planning, and remediation tracking.
  • Maintain deep understanding of local employment regulations, record retention requirements, data privacy laws, customer compliance expectations, and internal governance standards.
  • Act as TA’s SME for compliance across APAC, ensuring process consistency and policy alignment.
  • Proactively identify compliance gaps and implement process improvements to mitigate risk.
  • Partner with global TA Ops on building and maintaining audit frameworks, SOPs, and documentation libraries.

2. APAC Regional Collaboration & Partnership

  • Serve as the central point of contact (POC) for all APAC TA audit matters.
  • Partner with local operations teams in each APAC country undergoing audits to ensure consistency, documentation accuracy, and timely deliverables.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to TA partners, recruiters, coordinators, and leaders on compliance‑related processes and expectations.
  • Support the rollout of global compliance initiatives and adapt for regional needs where necessary.
  • Provide first‑level support for TA tools during APAC business hours, including:
    • SmartRecruiters (configuration checks, workflow updates, user access, tags, templates)
    • Clickboarding (tasks, workflows, onboarding packet updates)
    • Workday (TA‑related inquiries, integrations, data validation)
    • Any future TA technologies adopted in APAC
  • Perform small system updates to maintain continuity of operations (e.g., job templates, offer fields, screening questions, access requests).
  • Partner with global TA Tech & Innovation team for escalations and system enhancement projects.
  • Document and communicate changes to ensure global alignment and governance.

4. Process Training, Communication & Change Management

  • Develop and deliver training related to:
    • Audit readiness
    • New or updated compliance processes
    • System changes affecting the region
    • Remediation findings from audits
  • Communicate progress, timelines, risks, and issues to stakeholders across TA and HR.
  • Lead regional change management efforts tied to compliance, policy updates, or system optimization.
  • Manage one Operations Specialist, acting as a working manager.
  • Oversee daily workload assignment, prioritization, and performance quality.
  • Provide coaching, development planning, and functional mentorship.
  • Ensure team adheres to SLAs, data accuracy, compliance standards, and documentation rigor.

6. Operational Excellence & Governance

  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for APAC TA compliance.
  • Monitor adherence to global and regional recruiting policies.
  • Support vendor management activities within APAC when related to audits, compliance, or tool usage.
  • Contribute to regional and global reporting related to compliance and system usage.
