Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm is seeking a qualified professional to drive quality improvement and manage supplier performance in Penang. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering or a technical diploma, along with strong skills in quality management standards and technical drawings. Responsibilities include liaising with suppliers, conducting audits, and participating in the Material Review Board. This role is critical to ensuring the quality of materials and supporting the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Work with Suppliers, Procurement and Engineering to drive quality improvement or purchased materials.
• Liaise closely with suppliers for improvement actions in the event of material quality issues.
• Work effectively with Engineering in qualifying new customized parts/components for Production use.
• Member of Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition of non-conforming materials.

Responsibilities

Work with Suppliers, Procurement and Engineering to drive quality improvement or purchased materials

Liaise closely with suppliers for improvement actions in the event of material quality issues.

Work together with Procurement and Engineering on selection and approval of new suppliers.

Work effectively with Engineering in qualifying new customized parts / components for Production use

Joint effort with Procurement on Supplier Performance Rating

Guide and support incoming material buy-off on proper inspection and evaluation methods.

Member of Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition of non-conforming materials

Responsible for certain commodities and work with suppliers to drive material quality issues until closure

Coach and advise IOC Team in handling of issues related to material quality

Verify suppliers' 8D Reports from the aspects of containment, root cause analysis. corrective actions, and preventive actions.

Develop, review, and amend of Forms, Working Instructions and Procedures when need arises.

Train and guide IQC Technician in the handling of incoming rejects, production feedback and FOA rejects.

Conduct supplier assessment and audit.

Contributes to Monthly Report and Supplier Performance Rating.

Verify the validity of production complaints.

Conduct Internal OMS / EMS Audit

Drive the disposition of non-conforming materials in MRB area.

Any other tasks assigned by superior based on the business needs/requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Electrical Engineering, Or equivalent.
