Job summary

A construction company in Malaysia seeks a Quantity Surveyor with a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry and strong knowledge of contracts and cost control techniques. Job description

Prepare project bill of quantity, costing, quotation/ tender documents to customers according to instruction given by Commercial Manager.

Track changes to the design and/ or renovation works and adjusting budget projections accordingly.

Monitor project work done to ensure work is within project costing.

Understanding the tender requirements and drawing

Performance Management

Execute all tasks given and responsible for work performance.

Prepare and submit performance management reports to Commercial Manager.

Identify areas of improvement based on the performance management report.

Quality Management System

Implement company policy and departmental standard operating procedures.

Implement improvement in Commercial and QS department.

Support other internal customers in operations to ensure products and services meet customer and other interested parties’ requirements.

Proper document and record keeping in Commercial and QS department.

Requirements
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent.

Experience

Possess 5 years of proven experience in the similar industry or construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methodologies and cost control techniques.

Excellent numerical and financial management skills as well as exceptional communication and negotiation skills are highly a plus.

Able to work independently under stress, supervise and communicate

Able to handle pre & post tendering works, quotation, contract, administration of projects in execution, purchasing and preparing progress claim.

Strong communication and Interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with consultants & contractors.
