A renowned landscape contracting company is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Malaysia. The ideal candidate should possess a recognised degree in Quantity Surveying and have over 5 years of experience in construction works. Key responsibilities include preparing tenders, managing costs, and liaising with various stakeholders. This role offers a chance for growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Construction and Building Works.
  • Experience with a Main Contractor advantageous.
  • Hungry to grow and learn.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Tenders, Quotations, and Cost Breakdowns.
  • Liaise with Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors and Suppliers.
  • Prepare Progress Claims / Monthly Valuations.

The Challenges
Pre-Contract Works
  • Preparing Tenders, Quotations, Cost Breakdowns
  • Get quotations from Suppliers and Subcontractors for estimation
  • Maintain cost records, filing systems
  • Prepare Prequalification for Contractor
  • Attend Tender Interview and Briefings
  • Collect and submit tenders, when necessary
  • Liase with clients, consultants and subcontractors for clarifications
Post Contract Works
  • Liason with Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors and Suppliers
  • Liason with Legal Advisor (when required), Finance and Procurement
  • Budgeting and Breakdowns
  • Do and Prepare Site Measurements
  • Re-measurements, when needed
  • Coordinate with Project Team for project documentation
  • Preparing Progress Claims / Monthly Valuations
  • Variation Orders
  • Final Accounts
  • Prepare Sub-Contractor Letters of Awards / Certificates
  • Compile O&M and As-Built for submission
  • Filing online and hard copy
  • Experience with mentoring Junior QS advantageous
  • Meeting targets
What It Takes
  • Recognised Degree in Quantity Survey
  • 5+ years experience in Construction andBuilding Works.
  • Hungry to grow and learn
  • Experience with a Main Contractor advantageous
