Job summary

A construction firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage post-contract responsibilities, including claims preparation, payments, and contractor management. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in Main Construction and familiarity with high-rise projects. Knowledge of Mandarin is an advantage to facilitate communication with expatriates. This role demands excellent time management and independent working capabilities, with a position based in KL Eco City.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant Main Construction experience focusing on Post-Contract.
• Experience in high-rise projects such as residential, hotel, office tower, etc.
• Able to report to work at KL Eco City and manage tasks with minimum guidance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare claims, Variation Orders, Final Accounts, settlement and sub-contractor payments.
• Check and review sub-contractor claims and ensure all documents are accurate.
• Value completed work and arrange payments.

Job description

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Familiar with post contract.
• Prepare claims, Variation Orders, Final Accounts, settlement and sub-contractor payments.
• Call & Obtain quotations from suppliers and sub-contractors for comparison.
• Shortlist and recommend sub-contractor.
• Measuring quantities / taking off.
• Check and review sub-contractor claim.
• To ensure that all relevant documents submitted are fully substantiated, accurate, and in accordance with the contract policy and procedures.
• Provide advice on contractual claims.
• Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
• Value completed work and arrange payments.
• To highlight to the project department on any commercial and contractual issues and solve the issue.
• Prepare monthly report, project budget and cash flow projection.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by superior.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma/Degree in Quantity Survey or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant Main Construction experience focus on Post -Contract
• Candidates must have experience in high-rise project such as residential, hotel, office tower, etc.
• Able to communicate in Mandarin will be an advantage as need to deal with China expatriates or workers.
• Be able to work independently with minimum guidance and under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
