Job summary

A manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to manage production materials, coordinate with suppliers, and monitor order performance. Candidates should have 3–7 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles, a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and hands-on experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle. A high school diploma is required, with a preference for candidates holding an Associate or Bachelor’s degree. Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Independently prepare, review, and issue purchase orders for production materials
  • Coordinate closely with suppliers on pricing, lead times, and delivery performance
  • Monitor open orders and proactively resolve delays impacting production
  • Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices; resolve discrepancies with vendors and finance
  • Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data including lead times and supplier information
  • Support material planning, inventory control, and production scheduling
  • Track and report supplier performance metrics
  • Assist with audits, ISO compliance, and internal controls
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce cost and improve delivery reliability
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3–7 years of purchasing or supply chain experience in manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, and inventory management
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel and reporting skills
  • Strong problem‑solving, negotiation support, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage purchasing in a fast‑paced environment
