4. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all works comply with quality standards, specifications, and relevant codes.
- Enforce safety standards and procedures on site in line with company and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate with Safety & Health Officer on site inspections, toolbox meetings, and corrective actions.
- Ensure regulatory and authority requirements (e.g. local council, utilities, CIDB, DOSH) are met.
5. Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as the main point of contact for the client and consultants on project and site matters.
- Manage expectations, provide clear updates, and build strong working relationships.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports, highlighting risks, issues, and proposed solutions.
- Lead and mentor project engineers, site supervisors, and other site staff.
- Allocate tasks clearly, set performance expectations, and ensure accountability.
- Promote a culture of discipline, teamwork, and problem‑solving on site.
7. Handover & Project Close‑Out
- Oversee testing and commissioning, defect rectification, and final inspections.
- Ensure proper documentation, as‑built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover requirements are completed.
- Lead project close‑out review to capture lessons learned and improvement areas.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 8‑15 years experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager role.
- Proven track record delivering medium to large projects such as bridges, roads, hospitals and/or infrastructure projects in Malaysia.
- Strong on‑site execution experience, comfortable spending significant time on site.
- Good understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site logistics.
- Familiar with Malaysian construction standards, local authority requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Able to work under pressure, handle site issues calmly, and drive solutions.
- Willing to travel and work at project sites as required.
