Job Overview

Senior/Project Engineer – Senior project lead and Facilitator at Molex Malaysia. Supports business expansion by leading new product development and production transfer projects at the plant.

Team

Act as the bridge between project management, execution, control and monitoring for the Plant and Development team. Provide cross‑functional leadership, ensuring smooth transition from conceptualization to production and supporting Business Unit objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate cross‑functional teams in New Product Development, modifications, and selected capacity additions.
  • Monitor overall project schedule, define the critical path, and hold team members accountable for meeting agreed‑upon deadlines.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and cost while performing risk assessments and mitigation planning.
  • Respond to RFQ/DMF/GCA within specified time goals.
  • Own project reporting and communication to both management and customers.
  • Lead and mentor team members in project management principles and PDP processes.
  • Proactively demonstrate initiative and urgency in a fast‑paced development environment.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Project/Engineering roles with expertise in scope, schedule, cost, and risk management.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and self‑monitoring abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable with change orders, site/project design, and cost estimation.
  • Critical thinking, collaboration, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and plans for efficient project scheduling.
Preferred
  • PMP knowledge or certification is a plus.
  • Experience in New Product Development (NPD) from concept to production.
  • Manufacturing exposure (e.g., stamping, molding, automation).
  • Proficiency in Office 365, MS Project, Data & Analytics, and Enterprise Tools (e.g., Team Center, Polarion).
  • IATF 16949 knowledge or experience in quality management systems.
