Job summary

A management consultancy in Shah Alam is seeking to hire a Supply Chain Manager who will manage sourcing capabilities and the supply chain, negotiating with suppliers and maintaining stock levels. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree and have extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably with a focus on aviation. Strong negotiation skills and fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English are required for this role.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience in aviation (Component Maintenance preferred).
  • 4+ years experience in Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, or Shipping.

Job description
Job Purpose

Manage the company's sourcing capabilities and supply chain by strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors and calculating and maintaining stock levels in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses and work stoppages.

Key Responsibilities
  • To promote a positive Safety Culture and to ensure that Safety and Quality Policy is communicated/promoted and implemented within the Organization.
  • To efficiently and effectively buy consumable and expendable (direct material) material for the Company's MRO operations.
  • Deputize the Manager Supply Chain.
  • Recover material shortages (DMAT) timely and to reduce work stoppage time to a minimum.
  • To manage the strategic and operational supplier relationship (performance management, quality adherence, on-time delivery, relationship, commercial aspects).
  • To develops new vendor business relationships to support specific requirements.
  • Key contributor to the planning strategies by managing planned and actual lead times.
  • To cooperate closely with all involved internal customers (e.g. Production Planner, Engineering, Workshop, Customer Service, Logistics, Quality, Finance) to operate at minimal stock level with highest availability.
  • Define and maintain the MRP settings, by liaising with workshop in order to forecast future demand review.
  • Perform material planning including definition of stock levels, reorder points and safety level.
  • To drive the procurement level and validate purchase requisitions produced by an ERP system before they are handed over to procurement.
  • Analyse historical consumption data in order to recommend suitable planning models for certain material groups.
  • Identification of surplus material inventory and disposal of the material.
  • Set measures in a format of KPI's.
  • Negotiate pricing for contract agreement.
  • Manage, maintain, assess vendors periodically and involve in vendors improvement exercise.
  • To perform any other duties as assigned by Management to achieve the Company goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 6+ years experience in aviation (Component Maintenance preferred).
  • 4+ years experience in Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, or Shipping.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
