Overview
We are hiring a Senior Procurement Manager to lead and develop the company’s Procurement Department. In this role, you will implement strong governance, drive sourcing excellence, negotiate commercial value, and ensure materials and services are delivered to project teams on time, within budget, and at the required quality.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, manage and guide the execution of the department’s operation plan to meet project(s) budget, ensure on-time delivery, maintain quality compliance, and optimise costs.
- Assist and guide the Project team(s) in tracking and expediting shipments, and verify the quantity and quality of incoming goods/services against procurement requirements.
- Lead negotiations for goods and services to achieve the best commercial outcomes for the company.
- Initiate and lead continual improvement initiatives on systems, policies and processes to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement and manage risk mitigation/control measures to minimise risk exposures.
- Develop win-win business relationships and network with external clients, suppliers, and other relevant parties.
- Maintain and uphold the company’s image and reputation, and sustain strong relationships with external clients and customers.
- Supervise the implementation of quality management and assurance activities, ensuring compliance with relevant ISO/compliance standards.
- Mentor and coach staff in operational decision-making, supplier management, and strategic thinking.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Engineering (Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical).
- Minimum of 10 years of procurement experience in large-scale projects, including at least 5 years in the construction or machinery industries.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to design systems and processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
- High ownership, proactive mindset, and growth-oriented attitude.
- Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin will be an advantage.
