Overview

Ascentec Engineering Malaysia is a world class CNC manufacturing facility serving international and domestic markets. Located in Batu Kawan Industrial Park, Penang, Malaysia. We provide PCBA Tooling and Precision Machining divisions to deliver high-quality parts, products, and services. We strive to solve complex manufacturing problems for our customers to help their business growth.

Responsibilities
  • Secondary Process Engineering & Packaging: Develop, optimize, and sustain end-to-end processes for buffing, polishing, hardware installation, and other secondary operations.
  • Own the creation and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, PFMEAs, and process documentation.
  • Lead tooling, fixture, and equipment selection to improve process capability and repeatability.
  • Perform time studies, process simulations, and capacity analysis to support production scaling.
  • Design and develop packaging methods to ensure product integrity during handling, storage, and shipment.
  • Create packaging drawings, specifications, validation plans, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to evaluate cost-effective, reliable packaging materials and solutions.
  • Perform packaging validation testing and ensure compliance with customer or regulatory requirements.
  • Quality, 8D & Root Cause Analysis: Lead complex 8D investigations, ensuring strong root cause identification and effective corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to improve process capability, reduce scrap, and enhance product quality.
  • Monitor process KPIs and drive closure of quality issues through systematic problem-solving approaches.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Lead Lean, Kaizen, and waste reduction initiatives across secondary processes.
  • Champion process automation, tooling enhancements, and next-generation process technologies.
  • Conduct process validations, risk assessments, and readiness reviews for new or improved processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians in process best practices and problem-solving tools.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams to support NPI and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical training and floor support for operators and assembly personnel.
  • Participate in customer audits, technical reviews, and process readiness assessments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering; precision machining, aerospace, or medical device environment preferred.
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in secondary processes: buffing, polishing, sub-assemblies, packaging and documentation.
  • Proven leadership in 8D problem-solving, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, control plans, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives independently and influence cross-functional teams.
