A leading recruitment agency in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Pricing & Business Analyst who will own pricing strategy and drive pricing excellence across their product portfolio. This role requires expertise in pricing models, competitive analysis, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analytics and must demonstrate advanced skills in Excel and Power BI. The Senior Pricing & Business Analyst is a strategic commercial role responsible for owning and driving pricing excellence across the product portfolio of spare part, replacement components and universal products in Asia Part Hub for AME region. The position leads pricing strategy, competitive intelligence and profitability optimization, working closely with Sales, Product, Finance, and Global Pricing teams. This role combines pricing strategy, advanced business analytics, and product segmentation, requiring strong commercial acumen, analytical rigor, and the ability to influence stakeholders across regions. The incumbent will play a key role in strengthening pricing governance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling sustainable revenue and margin growth.
As the Senior Pricing & Business Analyst, you’ll be responsible for:
1. Pricing Strategy & Execution (Primary – ~70%)
Lead and own pricing strategy execution across products, channels, and customer segments to optimize margin and competitiveness.
Conduct channel and market pricing research, engaging directly with the market to gather insights and validate pricing benchmarks.
Partner with Global Pricing teams to ensure alignment with global frameworks while addressing local market dynamics.
Drive competitive pricing and benchmark analysis to identify pricing gaps, risks, and value opportunities.
Analyze price elasticity, volume trends, and customer behaviour to identify margin improvement opportunities, particularly for inelastic products.
Own annual pricing cycles, including price list management, pricing files, and pricing administration.
Maintain and govern the pricing master data, including setup and validation of pricing for new products.
Continuously improve pricing governance, controls and workflow processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
Ensure pricing compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable government frameworks.
2. Sales & Business Analysis (~20%)
Analyze sales performance by product category, customer segment, and sales channel to identify growth and profitability opportunities.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable commercial insights to support Sales decision-making.
Partner with Sales teams to assess pricing effectiveness, discount structures, and deal economics.
Provide management-ready analyses and reports to support pricing and business reviews.
Develop and execute pricing strategies for universal and consumables products, aligned with product lifecycle stages and market demand.
Collaborate closely with Sales and Service teams to segment the FAP product portfolio, enabling differentiated pricing and markup strategies based on customer value and usage.
Provide strategic input into product positioning, pricing architecture, and value-based pricing frameworks to maximize revenue potential.
Gross margin improvement driven by pricing initiatives
Revenue uplift generated from pricing and analytics initiatives
Channel performance improvement (growth and/or margin)
Price realization rate versus list or target pricing
Effectiveness of pricing actions, achieving intended margin or volume outcomes
Margin uplift on inelastic products
Accuracy and timeliness of pricing master data and pricing updates
Effectiveness of universal and consumables product pricing versus baseline
As a minimum you must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
5–7 years of progressive experience in pricing and business analysis.
Strong understanding of pricing models, elasticity, market dynamics, and profitability drivers.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
Proven experience working with global or regional stakeholders in a matrix organization.
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Commercially driven, proactive, and comfortable operating with minimal supervision.
High attention to detail with a strong data accuracy and governance mindset.
Industry experience in spare parts and consumables is a strong advantage.
Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
