Job description

Overview

We are Asia’s largest producer and the fastest growing activated clay manufacturer in the region. Taiko acid activated clay is a highly effective adsorbent essential in the refining process for purification and discoloration. We have seven manufacturing plants in three different countries in the Asia‑Pacific region.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the entire factory operation including plant production, budgeting, safety & health, environment compliance, purchasing, HR related issues and more.
• Formulate and implement strategic business plans to meet and exceed company’s production/sales/profit targets and customers’ requirements.
• Head the project work on plant expansion programme and improve process equipment performance.
• Monitor the efficiency of plant machineries and maintenance of building, infrastructure, utilities and support services.
• Plan, organise, lead and control the manpower & equipment capacity to maximise utilisation at optimum operation levels.
• Lead and manage the operation to meet and achieve the targeted KPIs.
• Grow sales volume and profitability from existing and new customers.
• Negotiate contracts and close agreements to accelerate business growth.
• Provide regular comprehensive operations reports and analysis.
• Liaise with regulatory government authorities.
• Establish, implement and maintain plant activities, product and services in accordance with standard requirements by each management system (ISO, HALAL, KOSHER, HACCP).
• Ensure that all operations in the plant follow the SOP/WI as stated in each management system and that all relevant statutory requirements are met.
• Ensure that all business contracts adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and statutory requirement.
• Ensure that the operations adhere to compliance requirements.
• Ensure that all sales and operational activities are carried out professionally, ethically and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a degree in any discipline but preferably in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years’ related working experience with at least 5 years in a senior managerial position in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• High result achievers who are analytical, independent and resourceful.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess excellent business acumen and leadership.
