Job summary

A financial institution located in Malaysia is seeking an IT Operations specialist with at least 3 years of data center experience, preferably in a financial institution. Responsibilities include monitoring systems, ensuring IT asset security, and participating in regulatory compliance activities. The ideal candidate will also assist in IT support tasks and work with various IT teams for system transitions and enhancements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Overview

IT Operations

Minimum 3 years of experience working in a data center operations team run by a financial institution based out of Singapore or Malaysia OR minimum 5 years of experience working in a data center operations outside the financial industry.

• IT Operational SLA (Critical system unplanned downtime, Non critical system unplanned downtime, Cyber, Malware, DLP incidents, Audit and Operational Lapses, renewals tracking, EOL/EOS Refresh, change)

Other Skills Required

• Familiarity of TVRA beneficial
• Experience in enterprise job schedulers and batch running platforms
• Experience in monitoring platforms and ability to interpret monitoring dashboards
• Experience in operating system level administration, and DB level system administration
• Experience in shell scripting
• Monitor systems health checks and uptime including both capacity management, and IT security alerts
• Monitor backups running and periodically verify backups are working correctly by doing dry run restores to stage environments
• Ensure prompt and efficient provision of IT support based on assigned areas transferred to Data center operations
• Assist other section in any tasks that are recurring, properly documented and knowledge transfer is given by the responsible section. To date OS patching, ID reset, core banking job scheduling, transfer of files to Secura for statement and notice printing have been handed over. Target is to transfer more going forward.
• Participate in contingency planning
• Ensure IT assets are protected and secure
• Conduct work in a manner consistent with high score from audit, risk, compliance assessments.
• BCM related activity participation
• Cutover related participation

Application and Systems Development / New Platform Acquisition

• Work with other IT section teams delivering new systems or major enhancements to take over IT operations tasks related to monitoring, backups, job scheduling, and recurring tasks as part of post cut over day 2 BAU transition.

Regulatory and Procedural Expertise

• Keep up to date and refreshed on required reading related to guiding how IT must be run in a regulated Financial institution. Minimum read list:
