Job summary

A leading company in the cement industry is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Johor, Malaysia. In this role, you will monitor cement plant construction phases, manage preventive maintenance, and provide technical support. With over 5 years of relevant experience in the cement or power industries required, you must ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards while supervising contractor work. A Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all phases of cement plant construction and commissioning.
  • Manage and plan machine preventative maintenance and modifications.
  • Provide daily technical support for operations equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and execute maintenance schedules, both emergency and preventive.
  • Supervise contractor’s work and monitor construction progress.

Senior Mechanical Engineer (Cement Industry)

Monitoring all phases of cement plant construction and commissioning to ensure compliance with project requirements

Manage and plan machine preventative maintenance, modification, and improvement

Responsible for carrying out troubleshooting works

Provide daily technical support for operations equipment and the operations team

Ensure compliance with safety standards, local legislation, statutory requirements, and regulations, as well as corporate guidelines, while performing maintenance-related duties and all other engineering work

Prepare and execute the scheduled/emergency/preventive maintenance schedule

Supervise and monitor the contractor’s work at Meridian Maplestar

Provide and execute modification, improvement, and innovation work

Purchase Requisition preparation, receive and store spare parts

Monitor construction progress

Inspect & witness during construction stage, wherever required

Learn individual equipment functions/details/maintenance as well as the operation system/procedures, then supervise to the colleagues/subordinates

To comply with the safety standards and policies implemented by the Company at all times and be responsible for your own safety as well as others without posing any threat, hazard, or endangerment wherever you will be when representing the Company

Any other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent
