A leading water technology company in Penang is seeking a mechanical engineer to collaborate with U.S.-based teams. Responsibilities include designing experiments, applying CAD models, and ensuring project alignment. Candidates must have a B.S in Mechanical Engineering, along with 5 years of experience in consumer product validation testing and CAD design. Strong skills in technical writing and CFD simulation are preferred. This role offers an opportunity to engage in innovative projects with a fail-fast culture.
Collaborate with U.S.-based technical project leads to deliver solutions on time, under budget, and aligned with validation requirements.
Design and execute experiments on parts, sub-assemblies, and systems as prescribed by the Product Validation Plan (VP&R), and document results.
Apply forward-thinking decision-making to identify and leverage risk opportunities that support project objectives.
Contribute to a fail-fast culture by rapidly prototyping and testing concepts, avoiding analysis paralysis.
Engage in cross-functional and vendor collaboration to ensure project alignment, identify constraints, and develop strategic solutions.
Perform solution concepting, CAD modeling/drawings, prototype and production sourcing, and manage creation, execution, and documentation of VP&R activities, including subsequent change control.
Present individual progress during weekly project status meetings with leadership.
Must have B.S in Mechanical Engineering.
5 years of experience in consumer product validation testing.
5 years of experience in 3D CAD design (SolidWorks proficiency strong preferred).
5 years of experience simulating flow through complex geometries using CFD (COMSOL strong preferred) and validating results on physical prototypes using a wide array of measuring techniques.
Exceptional technical writing skills.
Diverse background in metrology, data logging, conditioning, and plotting.
Fabrication experience using typical shop tools and materials.
Experience managing large CAD models/drawing packages from inception through ECN.
