Main Objectives of this position:
Drive the highest levels of quality within Malaysia Sales, be customer oriented and create value for customers as well as for Hapag-Lloyd. Drive performance within the Malaysia Sales team by exceeding Quality promises and KPI deliverables.
Function and duties:
- Achieve and exceed Malaysia Sales Budget, Export and import
- Holds responsibility for key performance as assigned to Malaysia Sales Teams as defined in the Sales Process and in line with SDM targets
- Drive the identification of new opportunities by the team
- Conduct regular 1:1 coaching with Malaysia Sub-Leads to drive performance and upskill team members
- Ensure Sales foundation is followed and embedded within the Sales Team
- Regularly review customer portfolios jointly with CGM Malaysia to ensure customers are within correct segmentation.
- Performance management of Malaysia Sales Team members as defined in the Sales Process
- Support Steering Manager and CGM with budgeting, planning and strategy
- Review with Country Manager Sales rep portfolios and coverage of MR, CU and CN customers
- Ensure they have the right Segmented Vertical specialists for their market
- Ensure feedback on the market including rates, competition activities, market conditions etc to all relevant stakeholders
- Ensure compliance policy is adhered to within Malaysia Team
- Work closely with Senior Managers in CS, Operation, Business admin to drive continuous improvement and promote collaboration between the teams
- Ensure that Push-Pull principle is followed as defined in Steering concept
- Selectively engage in TM discussions on relevant matters (e.g., competition activities, market rates, etc.)
Qualifications and Technical Job Requirements:
- University degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial role, preferably in the maritime sector
- Excellent communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of FIS and other HL systems
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Result driven team player with a proactive attitude
- Ability to work under pressure
- Goal and deadline driven
- Good time management skills
- Receptive and be able to grasp new ideas and motivate one’s self for personal development
