Senior Manager, Pre-Delivery Inspection (Commercial Vehicles)

Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager – Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) to lead and oversee our commercial vehicle pre-delivery operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that every UD Trucks, Foton, and King Long vehicle leaving our PDI facility meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee all vehicle collection, delivery, and PDI activities.
  • Ensure stock condition, periodic servicing, maintenance, and rectification are carried out effectively.
  • Lead vehicle inspection, quality control, and campaign rectification programs.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing Department on delivery schedules and customization requirements.
  • Supervise and develop a PDI team of approximately 20 employees (technical, admin, and drivers).
  • Manage overall stockyard operations, including documentation compliance and safety practices.
  • Implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and quality performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in PDI, vehicle assembly, or operations management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Hands‑on experience in vehicle inspection, delivery, and stockyard management.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
